Mikel Landa saw his biggest goals for 2025 dashed by a serious crash in the second stage of the Giro d'Italia, where he broke a vertebra. However, at the Soudal Quick-Step team presentation, the Basque rider sounded determined once again.
"I feel good. The injury is healed. I'm glad I was still able to finish last year with the Vuelta a España and the Giro di Lombardia. I'm ready for the new season and feel strong," said the now 35-year-old climber, who joined the Belgian team in 2024.
Landa was also asked about the possibility of riding all three Grand Tours. For now, the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France are on his 2026 schedule. The veteran does not rule out adding the Vuelta as well. "It’s something I’ve never done before. I’m not 25 anymore, but I feel energetic, so why not? I’m keeping the door open for it," said the two-time Giro podium finisher.
Landa will start his season at the Tour of Oman. Then he will progress through the Tour of Catalonia and his home race, the Tour of the Basque Country, en route to the Giro.
