Several World and ProTeams have sprung into action to secure the Canadian company following the announced departure of Premier Tech from Israel Premier-Tech. Cycling journalist Daniel Benson reports that this includes teams such as Ineos Grenadiers and Alpecin-Deceuninck.
According to Benson, Premier-Tech wants to remain involved in the cycling world but does not intend to become a title sponsor of a cycling team. The company prefers to join as a co-sponsor.
Which team Premier-Tech will partner with is still unknown. The journalist believed this weekend that it would be Alpecin-Deceuninck, but this was later denied. In addition to Mathieu van der Poel’s team, Soudal Quick-Step, Picnic PostNL, EF Education-EasyPost, Astana, and the women's team St Michel-Preference Home-Auber 93 has also been linked to the company.
The latter option is not so far-fetched, as the French ProTeam has three Canadians under contract for 2026: Alison Jackson, Clara Emond, and Simone Boilard. When Premier-Tech announced its departure from Israel Premier-Tech, the company explicitly stated: "Supporting the growth of the sport, together with developing cyclists from Canada and Québec, is our driving force and will continue to be so in the future."
For Benson, Ineos Grenadiers is therefore a serious contender to onboard Premier-Tech as a co-sponsor. The British cycling team has long been linked to Derek Gee, although the Canadian rider is still in conflict with his former team.
