Pauline Ferrand-Prévot hopes to succeed herself as the winner of the Tour de France Femmes in 2026, but she is certainly not focusing solely on La Grande Boucle. The Visma | Lease a Bike rider is unafraid to voice her ambitions and aims to especially shine in the spring classics like the Tour of Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
Ferrand-Prévot recently spoke on the stage of the live talk show Rouleur Live about a wide range of topics. Among other things, she discussed the upcoming cycling season. "I would like to win the Tour of Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège in the spring," she told Cyclingnews. "This year my performances were quite up and down."
"I performed well in the Tour de France Femmes, but next year I want to come out stronger in my first races and then again in the Tour. That’s also a challenge for me, to peak twice in the season, but I think it’s a very nice challenge," she openly shared her ambitions.
On collaboration with Marianne Vos
In the Tour of Flanders, Ferrand-Prévot will likely race alongside Marianne Vos. How does the French rider view the renewed partnership with the Dutch cycling legend? "In our first race together (Trofeo Alfredo Binda, ed.) in the spring, things didn’t go very well. I didn’t want to get in Marianne’s way, and it was the same the other way around. We both raced, but there wasn’t really a plan."
"After the race, we always have a debrief, and I just said it wasn’t good. You are Marianne Vos, I am Pauline. We have to stay who we are. I think we handled it very well afterward. Marianne started going her own way a bit more. In the Tour, she targeted stage wins, while I focused on the general classification. That’s how we found a good way to work together while still being ourselves."
