Olympic champion Jordan Stolz aims to race professionally in the future

21-year-old Jordan Stolz is the king of long track speed skating at these Olympic Games. The American won the 500 meters on Saturday ahead of Jenning de Boo, after already clinching Olympic gold in the 1000 meters earlier. In an interview with NBC, Stolz reveals he is a huge cycling fan and that he wants to make the switch to cycling someday.

Stolz spends a lot of time on his bike and watches races whenever he can. He calls himself a true 'cycling fanatic.' His favorite rider is Tadej Pogacar, he tells Knack. "I admire his style of racing; it’s always spectacular with him, and he launches so many attacks. I’d rather see him win than Jonas Vingegaard."

The American hopes to become a professional cyclist one day, although Stolz admits there’s still a lot of work to be done. Comparing himself as a cyclist to Pogacar, he says: "I’m nowhere near his wattage in zone 2, but if we sprinted against each other, that would be a very different story."
