Queen stage of Paris-Nice shortened again, stage now only 47 kilometers
Due to bad weather, the seventh stage of Paris-Nice has been significantly shortened again. Yesterday, the final climb to Auron was already removed from the stage, and this morning the organizers decided to shorten the race even further to just 47 kilometers.
Up to 23 millimeters of precipitation is expected around Auron, while the temperature will reach a maximum of three degrees Celsius. Therefore, the riders and entourage will depart in a convoy at 12:00 PM toward the new start location. The riders will begin the stage at 1:45 PM. The finish will remain at the location designated yesterday in Isola.
The (already shortened) stage was originally 120 kilometers. The final climb to Auron ended at over 1500 meters above sea level, but due to the weather forecast, it was decided yesterday to cancel it.
