Remco Evenepoel will make his debut for Red Bull with this time trial bike
Thursday is the day: Remco Evenepoel will make his debut for his new team Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. The Belgian will do this on a time trial bike, as Evenepoel will take part in a 26-kilometer team time trial at the southernmost tip of Mallorca.
Some images of Remco Evenepoel’s new time trial bike had already circulated on social media, but now Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe has officially presented the Specialized bike to the wider cycling audience.
What immediately stands out are the numerous references to the biggest victories of the 26-year-old Belgian. The S-Works (a model from the American bike brand Specialized) is adorned with gold accents, shades, and rainbow colors. These are, of course, nods to his Olympic titles won in Paris and multiple rainbow jerseys.
With his former team Soudal Quick-Step, Evenepoel used Shimano groupsets, shifters, and disc brakes. However, his new employer has a partnership with rival SRAM.

With this bike, Evenepoel will take to the road for the first time on Thursday on behalf of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, at the Challenge Mallorca. And it’s an important baptism by fire right away, as the 26-kilometer team time trial from Ses Salines to Colonia de Sant Jordi is also seen as a dress rehearsal for the team time trial in the upcoming Tour de France.
The organization describes it as a ‘non-technical route’. Looking at the route map, we understand why. The course contains only two corners, one turnaround, and three roundabouts, all of which can be taken at high speed. A relatively simple course was chosen because of ‘the time of year and the chance of rain,’ they say. “We don’t want to take unnecessary risks.”
