Roxane Knetemann becomes scout for German top team Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe

A striking new adventure for Roxane Knetemann: the Dutch former pro joins the German top team Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe as a scout.

We know 38-year-old Knetemann primarily as a former rider, analyst, commentator, and race director of the NIBC Tour of Holland, but now the daughter of former world champion Gerrie Knetemann is also taking on a role with the highly ambitious Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe.

"The structure at Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe offers ideal conditions to develop young riders not only athletically but also personally. My goal is to support talents throughout their entire journey and prepare them step by step for the demands of professional cycling," Knetemann explains in a press release.

Tim Meeusen, head of development at the team of, among others, Remco Evenepoel, says: "For us, talent development is much more than just sending riders to the WorldTour. Our long-term ambition is to be the most attractive team in professional cycling. That is why we are already investing today in the talents of tomorrow."

By bringing in Knetemann, the team takes "another innovative step. Roxane Knetemann is not only a former top athlete but also a qualified coach with years of experience working with young athletes. In her new role, the focus will be on education, mentoring, and the long-term development of emerging talent."

Another familiar face
Alongside Knetemann, Michael Hepburn is also joining, who just weeks after ending his professional career begins a new chapter. At Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, the Australian will "focus on scouting talent and the structured guidance of early-identified prospects within the development pathway."
