Sam Bennett resumes training after heart rhythm disorder

Good and bad news on Thursday about Sam Bennett. The sprinter from Pinarello Q36.5 Cycling Team has been dealing with a cardiac arrhythmia in recent months, but has now resumed training.

His team announced this in a press release. "The arrhythmia was diagnosed following a medical test, after which Sam underwent an ablation on November 18. Bennett had rest in the past months and restarted cycling at the end of December."

"His comeback is being monitored step by step, and he is following a personalized training plan. In recent weeks, he also attended the team's training camp," the team stated.

When Bennett will make his debut for the ProTeam is still uncertain. In any case, the team stands behind him, says Douglas Ryder. "First as a person and then as a rider. Seeing Sam train again is the most important thing right now," the manager added.
