Sandrine Tas loses leader's jersey in Bretagne Ladies Tour
Sandrine Tas has lost her leader's jersey in the Bretagne Ladies Tour. The Belgian finished sixth in the 24.7-kilometer time trial to and from Plomodiern, dropping two places in the overall standings. The win went to Jasmin Liechti, who achieved a double victory.
On Saturday, Liechti stayed ahead of a duo from AG Insurance-Soudal. Letizia Borghesi and Luca Vierstraete finished second and third, respectively 25 and 27 seconds behind the 23-year-old Liechti, who rides for the modest NEXETIS team. Two Dutch riders also made it into the top 10 with Anneke Dijkstra in eighth and Laura Molenaar in tenth.
The new overall leader in Bretagne has been in outstanding form over the past months. At the beginning of May, Liechti already secured the overall victory at the Gracia Tour, while she also claimed wins in the GP Della Liberazione Donne and the Porec Classic Ladies.
The Bretagne Ladies Tour concludes on Sunday with a relatively flat 134-kilometer stage to Laval. Liechti must defend a 21-second lead over Borghesi and 26 seconds over Tas.
