Stefan Küng out for a long time after crash in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
We won't see Stefan Küng in action for the foreseeable future. The Swiss rider crashed heavily during the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and broke his left thigh bone.
The 32-year-old Swiss went straight to the hospital after his crash, where he had to stay overnight and was informed that surgery on his left leg is necessary due to the location and severity of the fracture.
Küng will be transferred to Switzerland as soon as possible, where he will undergo surgery on his thigh. This was announced by his team on social media Saturday evening.
For Tudor, Küng’s injury is a significant setback. On Saturday, the team also saw Rick Pluimers crash hard in the Omloop. The Dutch rider is doing much better, although Pluimers will still have to miss Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne on Sunday.
