The Vélo d'Or, the prestigious award from the French Vélo Magazine, has been awarded to Tadej Pogačar and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. For Pogačar, this is the third time he has received the prize, and for Ferrand-Prévot, the first.
Both laid the foundation for their success in the Tour de France. In addition, Pogačar claimed three monument wins and secured the world championship title in Rwanda at the end of the year. Ferrand-Prévot, meanwhile, took victory in Paris-Roubaix.
The award for the best cyclists of the year has been presented annually since 1992. Ferrand-Prévot is the first Frenchwoman ever to receive the prize.
Pogačar succeeded himself, while Kopecký won the women's award last year.
