Tadej Pogacar is both the world champion and the European champion, which means we will never see the Slovenian wearing his starry jersey. Or will we? Pogacar has found a way to still honor the jersey.
Pogacar actually trains in the European Championship jersey, as we see on Instagram. During training, the Slovenian is not obliged to wear his rainbow jersey. So the UAE Emirates XRG rider can enjoy wearing his jersey that way.
It is probably also a way to be less recognized. Last year, we already saw Pogacar riding around Monaco in various outfits. The Slovenian had permission from his team to do so in order to train more calmly.
Regarding Pogacar’s program for 2026, little is known so far. This week he announced he has resumed training steadily, but no races have been scheduled yet. Over the past three years, Pogacar has always started the season in a different race. In 2025, it was the UAE Tour.
