The 2025-2026 Cyclo-cross World Cup has officially begun with Lucinda Brand and Thibau Nys as the big winners. They sparked a festive atmosphere in the Baloise Glowi Lions camp by winning the opening race in Tábor, Czech Republic. In Tábor, Brand and Nys were able to take home not only the flowers but also the brand-new UCI World Cup leader’s jersey. The kit is predominantly white, with red and black blocks on the shoulders and torso. Brand has claimed an early lead over Casasola and Van der Heijden., while Nys—naturally—has created a gap on Laurens Sweeck and Joris Nieuwenhuis.
There was a setback for the men in Czech Republic as Michael Vanthourenhout, after a crash, finished only 17th and is already 31 points behind Nys Due to bad luck in the opening phase, Cameron Mason and Pim Ronhaar are also facing a points deficit early on.
