'Oscar Onley to make INEOS Grenadiers debut next week'

Oscar Onley is set to make his debut for INEOS Grenadiers next week at the Volta ao Algarve (February 18–22), marking his first appearance in the colours of the British WorldTour team. The Portuguese stage race will be the first opportunity to see the highly rated young rider in action following his winter move.

According to Irish cycling journalist Daniel Benson, Onley is included in the INEOS Grenadiers squad for the Volta ao Algarve. He will line up alongside Filippo Ganna, Ben Turner, Kim Heiduk, Bob Jungels and fellow newcomer Kévin Vauquelin. For both Onley and Vauquelin, the race will serve as their debut for the team.

Onley joined INEOS Grenadiers from Picnic PostNL, despite still having a contract with his former team. After finishing fourth overall at the Tour de France last season, INEOS made a lucrative offer, which eventually led to an agreement between all parties. According to sources, Picnic PostNL received between four and six million euros as part of the transfer.

The Volta ao Algarve will offer the first real glimpse of Onley in INEOS colours, as he begins the next chapter of his career with the British team.
