The 2025 cycling season has come to an end. This also marks the conclusion of the UCI cycle 2023-2025, and we now know which teams will be part of the WorldTour for the next three years. While Uno-X Mobility is one of the teams promoted, Cofidis has not been able to avoid relegation.
The UCI will only publish the final team ranking after this weekend, but calculations already show that Uno-X Mobility finished nineteenth in the 2023-2025 cycle. Normally, the top eighteen teams in this ranking receive a WorldTour license for the next cycle, but due to the merger between Lotto and Intermarché-Wanty, a spot has become available.
Although Lotto is currently a ProTeam, it had independently secured a spot in the WorldTour, while Intermarché-Wanty also remained above the relegation line. In addition to Uno-X and Lotto, Israel-Premier Tech (with a new name) is also promoted to the WorldTour.
Cofidis relegates
In recent weeks, the battle was mainly for nineteenth place. This was a duel between Uno-X and Cofidis, with the French team coming out on the short end. Cofidis is therefore relegated to the ProContinental level. The same fate has befallen Arkéa-B&B Hotels, but this team is ceasing operations altogether.
By the way, Cofidis will still have a guaranteed wildcard in 2026. In 2025, they were the best team after Tudor and Q36.5 that will not be in the WorldTour next year. The UCI grants the top three of these teams a ticket to all WorldTour races. Originally, only the top two teams received this, but the rules were changed earlier this year.
Unibet Tietema Rockets
The UCI ranking is also important for ProTeams that want to ride a Grand Tour. Only if you finished in the top thirty teams last season can you possibly receive an invitation for the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, or Vuelta a España next year. Solution Tech-Vini Fantini and Euskaltel-Euskadi are not eligible.
Unibet Tietema Rockets is ranked among the top thirty in the 2025 ranking. The French team with Dutch roots thus has a chance to receive a wildcard for the Tour de France. Other ProTeams that might ride a Grand Tour in 2026 (but are not guaranteed) are TotalEnergies, Polti VisitMalta, Bardiani CSF, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Burgos Burpellet-BH, and Equipo Kern Pharma.
