Stage 11 Porcari - Chiavari (195.0km)
Wednesday's stage leaves Tuscany and heads for the Ligurian coast. From Porcari, the peloton follows the Tyrrhenian shoreline for a relaxed opening phase before the road turns inland toward La Spezia.
That is where the day gets serious. The climbs to La Foce (2.6 km at 6.8%), Pignone (2 km at 7.2%) and the Passo del Termine (7 km at 5.1%) set up a testing finale. The Colle di Guaitarola (9.7 km at 6.3%) can cause real selection, before the race threads back to the coast via Sestri Levante.
Nine kilometres from the line in Chiavari — nestled on the Gulf of Tigullio not far from Genoa — the climb to San Bartolomeo (4.6 km at 6.4%) fires the final salvo. A fast descent brings the riders down to the finish. This stage is made for attackers and puncheurs.
