Last week we already reported that Clément Venturini has signed a contract with Unibet Rose Rockets, and now the French team with Dutch roots has shared his arrival with the public. His debut for the Unibet squad will have to wait, as Venturini will not be competing in cyclocross this winter.
The 32-year-old rider announced this via social media. "Some decisions are hard to make, but they don’t necessarily have to be irreversible in the long run," he begins his Instagram post. "In my 12 years as a pro, cyclocross has always been a fixed part of my winter season."
"As everyone knows, a career is never an easy ride, and this year I have to make this difficult sacrifice to come back stronger and be able to celebrate Christmas with my son. I could have also been drinking champagne for another reason," he replies with a wink. "See you next year!"

The Frenchman has already completed twelve seasons as a road pro at successively Cofidis, AG2R La Mondiale, and in recent years at Arkéa-B&B Hotels. There he proved himself as a points collector, especially in Coupe de France one-day races and Belgian semi-classics. He is not a big winner, however, as Venturini has only four professional wins in his career. He does have experience racing Grand Tours. He finished all five editions he participated in.
Unibet Rose Rockets had previously made him an offer, but Venturini initially did not accept it – as we also reported earlier in the WielerFlits Podcast. Afterwards, we saw several interviews with the Frenchman where he revealed that the search for a new team was difficult. Ultimately, Venturini and The Rockets reached an agreement.
Done in the transfer market
Behind the scenes, the team has worked in recent weeks to ensure they could expand their roster to thirty riders. This way, they hope to perform as strongly as possible in every race they enter. With Venturini and the Dutchman Martijn Rasenberg, two riders were signed at the last minute for the new cycling season.
