Geraint Thomas already receives praise for his work as head of racing

There have been quite a few changes at INEOS Grenadiers in recent months. Dave Brailsford returned to the team last year, while INEOS figurehead Geraint Thomas has become Head of Racing at the British WorldTeam following his cycling retirement. Both Brailsford and Thomas are already receiving praise for their work with the team led by directeur sportif Imanol Erviti.

"I am very happy with the work he is doing," said the Spaniard to MARCA. "He was a great rider, but even so, his working style is very down-to-earth. That makes him very easy to work with. He teaches the team a lot about team culture and race tactics. Slowly but surely, we are already reaping the benefits."

Erviti also immediately recognizes Brailsford's key role in the team. Earlier, CEO John Allert described Brailsford as the 'not-so-secret secret weapon,' and now the Spaniard adds: "He is making a huge impact on this team. It's clear that he is the leader of this project."

"He is the person who brings out the best in us and the driving force behind INEOS Grenadiers. His return to the team has been incredibly positive so far."

To what extent INEOS Grenadiers has taken a step forward this year remains to be seen. The initial signs for the British team this season are already positive. The team has won five times, including twice at WorldTour level.
