His name had already been strongly linked with INEOS Grenadiers, but now the British team has also officially announced the arrival of Jack Haig to the outside world. The experienced Australian climber has signed for two seasons. Haig spent the past five seasons riding for Bahrain Victorious.
With Haig, INEOS Grenadiers brings in a very experienced climber. Now 32 years old, the rider has been part of the professional peloton for ten years and has gathered quite an impressive palmarès during this period.
In the early years of his career, Haig looked set to become a world-class GC contender. With podium finishes at the Ruta del Sol and Tour of the Alps, and a top 5 classification in Paris-Nice, he showed potential in stage races. His standout sporting achievement came in 2021: that year he stood on the final podium of the Vuelta a España as third overall.
Haig seemed ready to storm the top of the cycling world, but he was unable to live up to the expectations that followed. Nowadays, the Australian no longer races for himself but remains an important domestique in service of others.

"I can’t wait to start the season, meet my new teammates, and contribute to future successes. I’m also looking forward to supporting the talented young riders who have joined the team."
Praising words from Geraint Thomas
Geraint Thomas, the new Director of Racing, is very enthusiastic about his former teammate. "I raced wheel-to-wheel with Jack for many years, and he always impressed me. Jack is a fighter and perseveres, and he knows what it takes to stand on the podium of a Grand Tour. I’m certain he will play an important role in the coming years."
