The bike Tadej Pogacar rode this year from the Tour stage to Mont Ventoux is up for sale. Through the website Sotheby, you can bid on this unique bike until Friday, December 5. Those hoping to win the auction will need to dig deep: currently, the bid is already at 65 thousand dollars.
Specifically, it concerns a Colnago Y1Rs 'stripped black'. According to the auction site, this is the first time a genuinely used bike ridden by Tadej Pogacar has been publicly auctioned. The bike itself is quite iconic: the rainbow stripes are visible on the fork and top tube, applied to the frame during the rest day.
For the remainder of the season, Pogacar continued to ride the same Y1Rs. The bike thus 'witnessed' up close how the Slovenian secured his fourth Tour victory, became world champion again, and claimed the Giro di Lombardia.
Sotheby initially aimed for a sale price between 15,000 and 20,000 euros, but the bike is now well beyond that. Whether the amount will surpass 100,000 euros remains to be seen in two days.
