INEOS Grenadiers reclaim superteam status with new 20 million euro title sponsor
According to Cyclingnews and the Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, INEOS Grenadiers has secured a new title sponsor, which will join the WorldTeam starting from the 2026 Tour de France. It concerns a large, unnamed Danish software and IT company that has signed on for the next five years, contributing around 100 million euros in total (20 million per year).
INEOS Grenadiers has been working on securing a new main sponsor for nearly a year. Dave Brailsford is primarily looking for this financial backer to increase the team’s total annual budget to about 50 million euros, allowing them to compete again at the same level as UAE Emirates XRG, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, and Visma | Lease a Bike. It’s a similar situation to what Richard Plugge told us two weeks ago.
While Visma | Lease a Bike has not yet achieved this goal, INEOS Grenadiers has succeeded. Additionally, the team’s management hopes that TotalEnergies will increase its contribution from 2027 onward. The agreement with the namesake French ProTeam expires then, allowing the company to be presented as a full-fledged title sponsor of the British team. Reportedly, internal projections expect a contribution similar to that of the Danish title sponsor—around 20 million euros.
Technical partners are expected to fund the remaining 10 million to reach the targeted 50 million euros per year. Last year, the team took initial steps by bringing on TotalEnergies and transferring riders Kevin Vauquelin and Oscar Onley.
