Jonathan Milan forced to miss Milan-San Remo
Don't look for Jonathan Milan in Milan-San Remo on Saturday. The Italian sprinter is ill and therefore has to skip La Primavera. This was announced by Lidl-Trek.
Milan won the final stage of Tirreno-Adriatico last Sunday but fell ill afterward. He will now focus on recovery and will therefore miss Milan-San Remo, his team confirmed. Incidentally, Milan never made a significant impact in his previous four participations in Milan-San Remo. His best result was 69th place in 2024.
Lidl-Trek will also be without Mads Pedersen on Saturday. The Dane broke his left wrist and right collarbone in early February during a crash in the first stage of the Tour of Valencia. While the collarbone recovery is progressing well, the break in his left wrist is experiencing more complications. As a result, Milan-San Remo is no longer feasible, despite initial hopes within Lidl-Trek.
