Marianne Vos is once again setting a major goal on the spring classics for next year. The 38-year-old rider is particularly looking forward to Paris-Roubaix. In addition, she will once again compete in the Tour de France, where Visma | Lease a Bike will try to defend Pauline Ferrand-Prévot’s title.
"We always aim for the highest possible achievements, and next season will be no different," Vos says about Visma | Lease a Bike’s ambitions in 2026. "Personally, I hope to reach my best form and contribute to the team. If that happens, I will be satisfied."
So far, five one-day races are scheduled for Vos in spring. Especially Strade Bianche, the Tour of Flanders, and Paris-Roubaix are ‘marked in red on her calendar,’ according to Visma | Lease a Bike’s website. "Winning a classic is something exceptional. Everyone prepares as best as possible for these races and is at their peak."
Paris-Roubaix
Of the three races mentioned, Vos has only won the Tour of Flanders. She has never won Paris-Roubaix but has finished second once and fourth twice in the Hell of the North. She is therefore especially looking forward to this race in the spring. "Paris-Roubaix is chaos every year. I love riding it," she says.

After the classics, Vos will first race the Vuelta and then the Tour. Last year, Visma | Lease a Bike went to the Tour de France without a clear top favorite, but after Pauline Ferrand-Prévot’s overall victory, that will be very different in 2026. "All eyes will be on us, as we have to defend our title," Vos says. "To be honest, I think Pauline is used to dealing with pressure. It comes with elite sport. You have to handle all kinds of external factors."
Vos has high praise for Ferrand-Prévot. "Pauline knows exactly what she wants and what she needs to do to reach her goal. With her focus and dedication, she is a huge asset to the team. She gets along well with everyone and makes sure that everyone is happy to sacrifice for her. I enjoy racing alongside her. I hope we will experience many more great moments together."
Looking Back at 2025
Vos also took a moment to reflect on 2025. She called it a ‘very special’ season for Visma | Lease a Bike. "The Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix were two major goals for us. Winning both races is something we can be very proud of. A few years ago, I couldn’t have imagined being on a team that would win the Tour. To also contribute to that success gives me great satisfaction."
"We went there with the ambition to reach the podium. Pauline made a strong impression throughout the Tour and got through the first few days without problems. Although we weren’t quite sure what to expect in the mountain stages, we were confident she was ready. Pauline winning the last two stages and the overall classification was the crowning achievement of a fantastic Tour."
