Marianne Vos skips Milan-San Remo due to father's health concerns

Marianne Vos will not start Milan-San Remo on Saturday. The Dutch rider from Visma | Lease a Bike has received bad news about her father's health and is traveling back to the Netherlands to be with him.

The condition of her father is critical, Visma | Lease a Bike announced on social media. "Our thoughts are with Marianne and her loved ones," the team wrote. Rosita Reijnhout will replace Vos at La Primavera.

Her father's health has been declining for some time. Earlier, the Brabant native withdrew from the World Cycling Championships in Rwanda to support her father. This winter, Vos decided to skip the cyclocross season to spend more time with him.
