Oops! Puck Pieterse crashes while celebrating during Paris-Roubaix recon

If anyone possesses a surplus of technical skills on a bike, it’s Puck Pieterse, but even the Dutch all-rounder occasionally makes a clumsy mistake.

After scouting the cobbled classic Paris-Roubaix, Pieterse decides to pull a special victory celebration out of her hat on the velodrome. However, it doesn’t go exactly as planned...

At the moment Pieterse unclips from her pedals and tries to lift her bike into the air, things go wrong. The Fenix-Premier Tech rider slips on the rather slick white finish line but fortunately manages to quickly correct her foot slipping and break her fall.

This results in an unexpected but fairly unique victory gesture, much to the amusement of her training mates. And Pieterse? She can laugh about it herself.

Pieterse is currently in the final stages of her training buildup ahead of her road season debut. It remains unclear when the 23-year-old rider will race again, but she likely won’t be at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday.
