Picnic PostNL aims to help Fabio Jakobsen get used to sprinting again in AlUla Tour

Fabio Jakobsen kicked off his season Tuesday at the AlUla Tour, resuming after a challenging 2025. At Picnic PostNL, the pressure on the sprinter does not seem particularly high.

“The AlUla Tour has become one of the traditional season openers on our calendar, ideal for sprinters and puncheurs. We want to go for the stage win in every stage," explains team director Roy Curvers.

He also counts on Jakobsen for this. "On sprint days, we definitely want to involve Fabio in the race. That’s important so he can get used to sprinting in the finales again, while on the tougher stages, we will support Björn (Koerdt) and Frits (Biesterbos) to give their best."

Due to surgery on his groin artery, Jakobsen missed part of last season. In August, he made his comeback at the Renewi Tour and the Tour of Denmark, but there he broke his collarbone.
