Tomos Pattinson raced the past two seasons for the development squad of Visma | Lease a Bike, but the promising Brit will no longer be seen in the yellow and black next year. "Now it’s time for the next chapter in your career," says the Dutch team as it bids Pattinson farewell on social media.
At the end of 2023, Pattinson made the step up to Visma | Lease a Bike Development with an impressive track record. In the junior category, he showcased some very strong cycling skills, winning Liège-Bastogne-Liège and achieving podium finishes in the Gipuzkoa Klasikoa, Tour de Gironde International, and the consistently competitive LVM Saarland Trofeo.
In his first U23 season for Visma | Lease a Bike, he regularly made his presence felt. He finished third overall at the Istrian Spring Trophy in Croatia almost immediately and placed eighth in the Giro del Belvedere, one of the more renowned Italian U23 one-day races on the calendar. That year, Pattinson also claimed the British U23 time trial championship.
Thank you, Tomos. 💛
Over the last two years, you defended the black and yellow jersey more than 70 times, always leaving everything on the road. Now, the time has come for the next chapter in your career. Best of luck for the future! 🐝 pic.twitter.com/4KVQP2E7h3

Multiple calling cards
This year, he once again handed out several calling cards: he was fourth in the Istrian Spring Tour, ninth in the Giro del Belvedere, third in Eschborn-Frankfurt, eighth in the Orlen Nations Grand Prix, twelfth in the Tour of Lombardy, and fifth in the Coppa Città di San Daniele. He also started the Tour de l'Avenir, but was unable to make a major impact in this prestigious stage race.
Pattinson undoubtedly hopes these performances help him quickly make the step up to the pros, but he will not do so representing Visma | Lease a Bike. Exactly where his sporting future lies has yet to be announced, but he will continue racing as a U23 rider for at least one more year.
