With four victories and three more podium finishes, Tadej Pogacar enjoyed an exceptionally successful classics spring, but according to Het Laatste Nieuws, it’s uncertain whether he will follow the same classics campaign next year.
According to information from the Flemish newspaper, Pogacar is considering skipping Paris-Roubaix and the Amstel Gold Race. By skipping these classics, he could take a two-week break between the Tour of Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
Giro yes, no Vuelta?
This could also open the door to contesting the Giro d'Italia after the spring. The organizers of the Giro reportedly dream of having the world champion participate again, as in 2023 when he impressively took six stage wins and the overall victory.
On the other hand, the Vuelta a España organizers should not get their hopes up, because according to HLN, Pogacar’s camp considers combining the Tour de France, Vuelta a España, and the World Championships in Canada impossible.
Pogacar himself has yet to reveal his race program for the next cycling season. "I don’t want to look too far ahead to 2026. First, some rest before the casino starts again," he said.
