Will we see a Grand Départ of the Tour de France in Norway in the future? According to Thor Hushovd, it's possible. The former rider, current team manager of Uno-X Mobility, and ambassador of the Arctic Race of Norway believes this ambition is achievable for the Scandinavian country.
"I dream of seeing the Tour de France start from Norway," Hushovd said during the Arctic Race of Norway, a four-day race organized by ASO, in an interview with the Italian tuttobiciweb. "I think it's possible. We need to convince ASO, which won’t be easy, but in my opinion, it’s doable."
"If we manage to organize a big start in Oslo or elsewhere, cycling will literally explode. We saw that in Denmark in 2022, but I truly believe the Grand Départ here would be even more popular. We are confident it will happen because Uno-X Mobility will still be around in 2030, 2040, and even 2050. Everyone wants to keep seeing our team racing in the biggest events in the world, and all of Norway will cooperate to get our guys on the road."
