Tom Pidcock heads into favorite race in form: "We all know what will happen"

Tom Pidcock is seen as a dark horse favorite in Milan-San Remo on Saturday, especially after his performance in Milan-Turin on Wednesday where he blew everyone away in the final few hundred meters. The Brit sees it differently himself.

"I actually felt pretty strange today," he said after the finish at Cycling Pro Net. "My legs felt like I was riding my first race of the season."

"But yes, of course I’m in good shape. Although in Milan-San Remo I also learned that fitness isn’t everything. I was in great form for San Remo last year too, but then I hit the Cipressa in a bad position and everything was different."

The Brit hopes to make amends on Saturday and is confident about it. "The race is very explosive and I like that. It’s really one of my favorite races. And yes, we already know what’s going to happen on the Cipressa," he concludes.
