Two dead and several injured after accident in Tour du Rwanda

Terrible news from the Tour du Rwanda. During the opening stage, two spectators lost their lives after a vehicle within the race caravan veered off the road and hit the crowd. This was reported by the organizers in a press release.

Six other people were also injured in the accident. "The injured are receiving care, and we are closely monitoring their condition," the organizers stated. "The national police of Rwanda have launched an investigation into the cause."

No further details about the accident have been released. The opening stage was completed as planned. Itamar Einhorn won the stage in a bunch sprint.
