UAE Emirates XRG adds new rider to roster immediately

Luca Giaimi will race for the UAE Emirates XRG WorldTeam over the next three years. The 21-year-old Italian was promoted from the development squad to the WorldTeam with immediate effect on Friday. Giaimi is now the 30th rider on the team. 

This year marks Giaimi’s third season in UAE’s development structure. Over the past years, he has often ridden alongside the WorldTeam, and in 2026 we already saw the young Italian competing in the Volta ao Algarve.

At a lower level, Giaimi has already claimed several victories. Last year, for example, he won a stage in the Volta ao Alentejo and the Troféu da Arrábida.

In a team press release, Mauro Gianetti explains why the Italian is making the step up at this moment. “We feel he’s ready,” said the Italian. “He has the character, dedication, and the right mentality to continue growing now within our WorldTour squad.”

Giaimi expresses a similar sentiment. “I’ve learned a lot over the past two years, and I cherish the experience I’ve already gained with the WorldTeam, which I carry with me into the future. I want to keep growing with the whole team to become the best version of myself.”
