The Gree-Tour of Guangxi for women—the final Women's WorldTour race of the season—was won by Anna Henderson. The Brit was on the attack in the finale alongside Caroline Andersson, but the Lidl-Trek rider proved clearly faster in the two-up sprint against the Swede.
While the men get a multi-day Gree-Tour of Guangxi, the women currently have to settle for a one-day race, which is nevertheless part of the Women's WorldTour. Many riders who were seen last week in the Tour of Chongming Island also took the start in Guangxi on Sunday.

The participants faced a predominantly flat but still demanding race. This was largely due to the short yet very steep climb of Qingxiushan (1.3 km at 11.5%). This ‘wall’ appeared no less than four times on the route, each time causing a serious selection in the peloton.
After three passes, the peloton was already reduced to a favored group of only twelve riders, but the last ascent of Qingxiushan proved decisive. Caroline Andersson and Anna Henderson managed to break away there, joined forces, and steadily increased their lead over the final twenty flat kilometers.

The two leaders were evenly matched and so the two-up sprint had to decide between victory and defeat. The more experienced Henderson proved much too fast for her Swedish opponent in this sprint, convincingly securing her second win (following an earlier stage victory in the Giro d'Italia Women) for Lidl-Trek.
Andersson had to settle for the most thankless podium place, while the sprint among the chasers for the final podium spot was won by former Spanish champion Usoa Ostolaza. Riejanne Markus was also part of this chasing group: the strong rider not only saw her teammate Henderson prevail but also rode herself to a notable (6th) place.
