Annemarie Worst and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado will not be seen in cyclocross races for the time being, Christoph Roodhooft said Sunday on Sporza. The two Dutch cyclocross riders are injured, and there is no clear return date yet.
Alvarado was scheduled to make her comeback on November 23 in Tabor after her knee injury, but that return date has now been postponed. "It is still uncertain when she will return. Tabor is really too soon," Roodhooft said.
Worst's story is similar. During the Simac Ladies Tour, the Dutch rider crashed hard, breaking her collarbone and tearing several tendons in her left shoulder. As a result, she missed the start of the cyclocross season in September. "At this moment, it is mentally very tough, but I know from previous times that I can get through it," she said at the time.
Roodhooft also does not have much to report about Worst yet: "The same applies to her as to Alvarado," he concluded.
