Canyon launches multidisciplinary cycling team with strong Dutch presence
Canyon and DT Swiss have unveiled a new offroad team: Canyon × DT Swiss All-Terrain Racing. Three Dutch riders will compete for the mixed men’s and women’s squad. The team deliberately adopts a cross-discipline approach, focusing on gravel, ultra-endurance, cyclocross, and marathon mountain biking.
The squad consists of thirteen riders in total, including these three Dutch athletes: Jasper Ockeloen, Larissa Hartog, and Mathijs Loman. Ockeloen, a well-known name in the gravel scene, has long been sponsored by Canyon. As an independent gravel rider, he finished ninth at Unbound in 2025. Hartog was previously contracted with Parkhotel-ZZPZR.nl-Orange Babies, but that cyclocross team is disbanding after twenty years.
Loman raced last year for Swatt Club, a highly successful Italian club team. The Dutch rider himself played a significant role in that success, having won the overall classification of the 2025 UCI Gravel World Series.
Juri Hollmann
Alongside the three Dutch riders, the standout name is Juri Hollmann. The 26-year-old German raced for years in the WorldTour—first with Movistar, then Alpecin-Deceuninck—but suffered a heavy crash in the 2025 Giro d’Italia. He is still recovering and is now riding for Canyon × DT Swiss All-Terrain Racing as part of his rehabilitation.
Hollmann may return to Alpecin-Premier Tech (the team of the Roodhooft brothers) later on. The team has previously stated that they would not abandon him. “We are now offering a solution: Juri remains part of our squad for coaching, support, and training camps, while Canyon provides him with the opportunity to compete in off-road events,” they announced in early January.
Blurring boundaries between disciplines
Canyon describes the Canyon × DT Swiss project as a response to the blurring boundaries between disciplines, with riders being deployed flexibly depending on the course and race format. The focus in spring is on gravel classics such as The Traka and Unbound, while later in the season there will be more ultra-endurance events and multi-day off-road races. Besides gravel, the team will also be active in cyclocross and marathon mountain biking.
