The Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes with Zwift have announced a three-year sponsorship agreement with Groupama. "This collaboration aligns with Groupama's commitment to professional cycling," the press release states. The insurance company has been the main and title sponsor of the Groupama-FDJ cycling team since 2018.
"This new partnership also reflects the shared ambitions of the Tour de France and Groupama to invest in amateur and recreational cycling through initiatives that support clubs and promote safety awareness," the statement continues.
"The agreement also stems from the desire to remain close to the French people, bring the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes with Zwift—the country’s biggest champions—closer to the public, and raise Groupama's profile across France with regional offices and employees. With workers and volunteers distributed throughout the country."
"Key player in the cycling world"
Sylvain Burel, Groupama’s communications director, is delighted: "By becoming an official partner of the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes with Zwift, we strengthen our presence in a sport we already support at the highest level. This partnership with ASO marks a new step in our ambition to pursue a coherent and ambitious sponsorship strategy. Groupama is now a key player in the cycling world."
Yann Le Moenner, CEO of ASO, is also very pleased with Groupama as a new partner. "We are thrilled to welcome Groupama as one of our official partners. This collaboration embodies the values we share in cycling. It’s a new step in Groupama’s commitment to the sport, whether it’s pros, amateurs, or recreational cyclists."
Groupama has been the main and title sponsor of Groupama-FDJ, the cycling team managed by Marc Madiot, since 2018. The French insurance company wanted to promote a healthy lifestyle as part of their ‘With passion for cycling’ program. Becoming the title sponsor of one of the country's biggest cycling outfits fit perfectly into this plan.
Seven years later, the partnership is still going strong. Groupama decided late last year to extend the sponsorship agreement for another three years, until the end of 2027. The contract with the other title sponsor, La Française des Jeux, also runs for another two seasons.[/wftk_box]
