Dries De Pooter can breathe a sigh of relief: the future of the 23-year-old Kempen rider is now secured. The young classics specialist will ride for Jayco AlUla for the next two years.
De Pooter was already spotted at a training camp with the Australian WorldTeam. Now the team has officially confirmed his arrival. De Pooter is transferring from Intermarché-Wanty, where he could not remain after the merger with Lotto.
Right at the end of the year, the fast rider won a stage in the Tour of Kyushu in Japan, marking his first professional victory. De Pooter was one of the biggest Belgian talents of his generation and was once Belgian junior champion.
Additionally, the arrival of Rudy Porter, who returns to the team after a year away, is also announced. The 24-year-old Porter was held back by injuries and was therefore only able to race with the national team in 2025. Together, they are the latest additions to the Australian WorldTeam.
De Pooter wants to win
"I grew up watching their amazing performances in team time trials, and now I get to be part of this team with such a great history," said De Pooter. "I especially look forward to being part of the classics squad next year and trying to win races together, because that’s ultimately why we all started cycling."
