'Lidl-Trek turns to Felix Gall in search for extra GC-rider'

Is Felix Gall in his final season with Decathlon CMA CGM? Lidl-Trek is reportedly working behind the scenes to sign the Austrian. That is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is the usually well-informed cycling journalist Ciro Scognamiglio who writes that Gall can expect interest from the German WorldTour team. The 28-year-old climber is currently riding for Decathlon CMA CGM, but his contract expires at the end of this season.

Gall – who is currently on course for the podium in the Giro d'Italia – is in his fifth season riding for the French outfit. Before that, he spent two seasons with the then Team Sunweb. He made his pro debut in 2020 with this Dutch team.

Gall has made one big step towards the absolute top while riding for Decathlon. In 2023, he achieved his first top ten in a Grand Tour (eighth in the Tour de France) and last year even finished fifth in the Tour de France. He was also eighth in the 2025 Vuelta a España. His palmarès now include stage wins in the Tour and the Tour de Suisse.

Strengthening the Grand Tour core?
His future new team Lidl-Trek appears to be working on further reinforcing its climbing and Grand Tour core for the coming years. The well-funded and ambitious squad already signed a new GC leader over the winter in Spaniard Juan Ayuso. The team also has several strong climbers in its ranks, including Mattias Skjelmose, Giulio Ciccone, and Derek Gee-West.
