Lotto-Intermarché recruit shines in Tour de Taiwan celebration

In Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico, Vito Braet and Arnaud De Lie narrowly missed out on podium spots, but for Lotto-Intermarché there is still a small consolation. In the Asian Tour de Taiwan, Australian Matthew Fox won the sprint from a reduced group.

Stage two of the five-day race covered 123 kilometers between Taoyuan Chungli Chintan Park and Jiaobanshan Park, becoming quite challenging towards the end. The strength of the WorldTour riders became evident there. With Matys Grisel, the team also secured third place.

The Belgian squad is the only WorldTeam racing in Japan against five ProTeams, with the rest of the field made up of national teams and continental squads.

The 23-year-old Australian was already an intern with the team last year but is now in his first year as a professional rider.
