Thibau Nys to miss spring after knee surgery
Thibau Nys will not be seen in the Ardennes classics this spring. The Belgian underwent successful surgery on his left knee this week, his team announced on social media.
"Thibau was suffering from a friction syndrome in his left knee. The knee pain kept recurring during training after a previous impact, and recently he asked the team to undergo surgical treatment," said Lidl-Trek.
The recovery for the 23-year-old rider will start with three and a half weeks of rest, meaning the Belgian can only resume training around mid-April. As a result, he will definitely miss the Ardennes classics and possibly also the Giro d'Italia, which begins on May 8 in Bulgaria.
