Unibet Rose Rockets invited to 'Middelkerke-Wevelgem' race

‘In Flanders Fields. From Middelkerke to Wevelgem’ – better known as the former Gent-Wevelgem – has awarded its wildcards for the upcoming editions (m/f) on Sunday, March 29. There is good news for Unibet Rose Rockets on the men's side.

The French team with Dutch roots has received an invitation for the prestigious classic. This marks the first time in the history of the ProTeam co-founded by Bas Tietema. It is certainly not their first wildcard, as Unibet Rose Rockets already have invitations for races including Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Strade Bianche, Milan-San Remo, and the Tour of Flanders.

Besides the eighteen WorldTeams and Unibet Rose Rockets, Pinarello-Q36.5, Tudor, and Cofidis are guaranteed invitations to all WorldTour races in 2025, and thus also for In Flanders Fields. From Middelkerke to Wevelgem, based on their performances. TotalEnergies, Team Flanders-Baloise, and Burgos Burpellet BH will also line up for the West Flanders classic.

Since this year, Gent-Wevelgem is known as ‘In Flanders Fields. From Middelkerke to Wevelgem’. Additionally, the WorldTour one-day race no longer starts in Ypres but in Middelkerke. Otherwise, riders can expect a familiar finale.

In the second half of the race, as usual, there are several climbs over the Baneberg, Monteberg, and the Kemmelberg. Furthermore, three unpaved Plugstreets are once again included in the route. The women’s race finale is the same as the men’s.
