Stage 5 Brussel - Brussel (183.2km)
The final day of the Baloise Belgium Tour is usually a treat for the sprinters, but since the organization chose Brussels as the location for this stage starting in 2023, it’s become less straightforward. Both the start and finish are set in the shadow of the iconic Atomium, followed by a large local circuit that is tackled four times.
This loop takes the riders through surrounding municipalities such as Wemmel, Merchtem, and Meise—the latter known as the hometown of Eddy Merckx. The final kilometer is anything but easy, with the finish on the Esplanade featuring a noticeable uphill drag. And with a sharp right-hand turn just 400 meters from the line, positioning will be absolutely crucial.
