Visma | Lease a Bike has revealed Wout van Aert’s cyclocross schedule. The Belgian will compete in seven races this winter. He kicks off on December 20th at the Antwerp World Cup. The World Championship in Hulst is (for now) not on his calendar.
Van Aert will therefore enter the field in Antwerp. He will face Mathieu van der Poel immediately in this World Cup, who may make his return in Namur on December 14th. Two days after the Antwerp race, we can expect another duel in Hofstade (December 22nd). Van Aert and Van der Poel will also go head-to-head in Loenhout (December 29th), Mol (January 2nd), and Zonhoven (January 4th). They will face each other five times this winter.
The two remaining races where Van Aert will start (and Van der Poel will not) are the Superprestige Heusden-Zolder (December 23rd) and the Belgian Championships on January 11th. Van Aert is expected to end his cyclocross season with the national title battle. The World Championship in Hulst (February 1st) is not mentioned on his schedule. However, in 2025 the Belgian also did not plan to race the Worlds but eventually started in Liévin, finishing second behind Van der Poel.
