Stage 4 Charmes-sur-Rhône - Saint-Peray (17.4km)
In the fourth stage, the general classification contenders can no longer hide. The organizers have mapped out an individual time trial of — albeit only — 17.7 kilometers, from Charmes-sur-Rhône to Saint-Péray. Most of the route runs over flat roads, but there is a fairly steep climb halfway through: 1.6 kilometers at an average gradient of 9.6%. That’s a spot where riders could really come to a standstill.
Technically, the course is not very demanding. With just a few corners, riders will be able to maintain a strong pace throughout. Intermediate times will be recorded after 10.5 kilometers.
