The new identity of Israel-Premier Tech has been revealed. The team gains the international sports and entertainment company NSN as its main sponsor and will immediately continue as NSN Cycling Team. Stoneweg, a global investment platform from Switzerland, is also coming on board. As a result, the team will race under a Swiss license but maintains a Spanish structure. The headquarters are located in Barcelona and Girona, respectively.
Premier Tech announced in early November that it would immediately cease sponsoring the Israel-Premier Tech team. The decision followed a period of growing controversy surrounding the team. Due to the ongoing war in Gaza, there were multiple protests against Israel-Premier Tech during the past season, particularly at the Vuelta a España. Subsequently, the team was also denied entry by the Giro dell’Emilia organizers. Co-owner Sylvan Adams, who previously described himself as an “ambassador of Israel,” had already withdrawn from daily management.
It had earlier emerged that the team distanced itself from its Israeli identity. As a result, the team was briefly without a name and sponsor, but with NSN and Stoneweg, new backers have now been found.
“We are proud to welcome NSN and Stoneweg to the team and to announce our new name and identity: NSN Cycling Team,” says Kjell Carlström, who was already team manager at Israel-Premier Tech and now leads NSN Cycling Team. “The takeover of the team license by NSN and their subsequent role in the team offers the opportunity to attract investment from a leading player in global sport and entertainment, who can leverage their extensive experience for the benefit of the team and our partners."
"NSN shares our commitment to innovation, development, and pushing boundaries in cycling. Our long-standing relationship with Stoneweg forms the foundation for this new partnership, and together we have ambitious goals for the upcoming WorldTour cycle. This is an incredibly exciting new chapter for the team, and we cannot wait to make our debut as NSN Cycling Team.”
Biniam Girmay?
NSN Cycling Team and NSN Development Team (which is a development squad linked to the main team, aiming to compete in the WorldTour by 2026) will come together next week for the team’s first training camp. In the coming weeks, the team kit will be unveiled, among other things. The team has not yet communicated its roster for 2026, but Biniam Girmay is expected to be the team’s marquee rider, reports Marca. Additionally, Joseph Blackmore, Alexey Lutsenko, Corbin Strong, and Belgians Tom Van Asbroeck and Floris Van Tricht remain under contract.
