Stage 4 Saumur - Poitiers (130.7km)

On day four of the Tour de France Femmes 2025, the peloton covers 128 kilometers from Saumur to Poitiers through the gently rolling heart of France. With only 700 meters of elevation gain and no serious climbs, this stage is tailor-made for sprinters, despite some slight inclines here and there and the Côte de Marigny (900 m at 5.4%) after 99 kilometers. A mass sprint finish seems almost inevitable, although the wind in the last thirty kilometers could throw a wrench in the works. The peloton rides on wide, open roads towards Poitiers – ideal for echelon formation, but that will depend entirely on the weather conditions.

Poitiers, with a rich Tour history and known from the history books for the Battle of Poitiers (732), is hosting the Tour de France Femmes for the first time. In 2020, Caleb Ewan took victory here after a powerful sprint – on a finish very similar to this year's: slightly uphill and wide. All signs point to a sprint queen. Lorena Wiebes is the top favorite, but Charlotte Kool, Elisa Balsamo, or even Marianne Vos could strike if they are perfectly positioned in the finale.
