Stage 5 Futuroscope - Guéret (165.8km)

On Wednesday awaits the longest stage of the Tour de France Femmes 2025: 166 kilometers from Chasseneuil-du-Poitou (home to the Futuroscope amusement park, long-time sponsor of the FDJ team) to Guéret. Although the first half of the stage runs over flat and gently rolling roads, the real challenge lies in the finale. In the last thirty kilometers of this ride through the French countryside, there are three categorized climbs, creating the perfect terrain for attacks and time gaps.

After a long approach, the peloton gradually climbs to 400 meters elevation. The finale starts with the Côte de Chabannes (1.4 km at 5.2%), followed by the longer Côte Peyroux (3.3 km at 4.3%), where the first serious selections are expected. But the decisive strike seems likely on Le Maupuy (2.8 km at 5.4%), just under seven kilometers from the finish. This final climb, in the forested Creuse region, is the ideal launchpad for GC contenders. The finish in Guéret features a slight uphill, adding extra difficulty after a grueling finale. This stage may not look extremely tough on paper, but expect time differences. The question is: will a breakaway seize the opportunity, or will the GC contenders take control here?
