Stage 21 Alalpardo - Madrid (103.6km)
As so often, the Vuelta concludes in Madrid. The last stage will be a festive affair, with several laps through the beautiful old city center, over a total distance of 101 kilometers. After the start in Alalpardo, the riders will have more than two hours to take photos together, ride at an easy pace, and enjoy themselves.
The finishing circuit, 5.8 kilometers long, is joined after 65 kilometers. From then on, the riders will have plenty of time to familiarize themselves with the finale before things get serious and the sprinters battle for the stage victory. For the record: the circuit runs along the Paseo del Prado, Paseo de Recoletos, Calle de Alcalá, and the Gran Vía, before finishing at the Plaza de Cibeles.
